Kaleidescope

About |

I have always loved drawing mandalas, and I’ve realized that this may be because doing so uses both parts of my brain. I usually consider myself a very free-spirited person, but I definitely have a perfectionist side to me as well, especially when it comes to art. I love the way mandalas can be anything you want, yet they still require a certain amount of precision and technicality to work. My hand can draw whatever shapes and patterns, while I am still careful about my color placement afterwards.

This piece is titled “Kaleidescope” because it reminded me of the Kaleidescope toys I would peer into as a kid, admiring the symmetrical patterns floating around space.
