This piece was commissioned as a Christmas present for someone who enjoys cycling outdoors. The client requested an abstract representation of this trail-biking, using colors from the forest as inspiration.
I began by researching the shapes of bicycle wheels, determining how I could incorporate those shapes and patterns into the mandalas. I also organized the composition in such a way that it seemed the wheels were following an outdoor trail, moving up along the page and gradually separating to convey motion.
